即興的に描いた一本の線には、生まれたての鮮やかさがあります。また、対象を描きながら不必要な部分を削ぎ落とした時に残る揺るぎないものも、一本の線です。線は形象の表層やその芯を行き来して、蝶や人体、牛あるいは風景などとなり、世界を成り立たせます。

けれども、「あめ」という言葉が「雨、天、飴、尼、海女」と様々なイメージを喚起させながらも「あめ」という音でしかないように、そして一つのポーズで物語やイメージを喚起させる舞踏家の身体が身体でしかないように、線も線でしかありません。

黄昏や暁に鬼や妖精がみえる、そんなある世界とまた別の世界の狭間の時に、ふと顕われるようなドローイングを楽しんでいただけたらと思います。

In recent years I have found fresh inspiration which has enabled me to expand my level of creativity to embody a broader diversification while developing the fine distinction which connects a 'Line' to the 'Body'.

A 'Line' drawn in an improvised manner is vivid & fresh--it remains when all nonessential components are erased from the original Sketch of an Object.

A 'Line' fluctuates between the centre and surface of any Object which can identify the human body-the skeleton of a cow-the silhouette of a butterfly-and capture the indisputa-ble beauty of a gentle scenic hill--all of which may create a transitional world without specified time nor location.

However
A 'Line' is only a line-just as the Japanese word 'Ame' may invoke an imagery of the rain, sky, candy or a small miracle.

And the 'Body' is simply a body-it may be the contoured pose of a dancer whose kaleidoscopic shadow inspires a myriad of fairytales and metaphors : Or it may be countless warm and wondrous images symbolizing childhood illusions of mythical romantic fables or twilight ghosts.

It is my sincere desire to coordinate through my works-the boundary between today's re-ality and the more desirable mystique of an abstract & chimerical world.
